Adaptation Process to Deliver Content Based on User Learning Styles
نویسندگان
چکیده
This work describes a model for an adaptation process to deliver educational content in a learning management system (LMS), according to a user learning style in the context of eLearning process based on competences. To achieve this purpose, a user model based on the Felder and Silverman learning styles and the design of an adaptive process are presented. We use machine learning techniques to support adaptation, learning technologic standards to specify and to characterize important elements of the learning process, and also, intelligent agents for developing an independent multiagent platform. The result of adaptation process is to deliver learning resources sorted in a specific order of presentation, according to each specific user learning style. The first prototype of our proposal has been developed upon dotLRN, an open source LMS, that allows to present implementation details in the context of this adaptation process. The work implemented will contribute to ADAPTAPLan project (TIN2005-08945-C06-00).

A number of adaptive e-learning hypermedia systems (AEHS) have been developed to support learning styles as a source for adaptation. However, these systems suffer from several problems, namely: lack of maintenance adaptation to learning style, less attention was paid to thinking styles and the insertion of specific teaching strategies into learning content. This paper proposes an AEHS model bas...
متن کاملThe Hybrid Model for Adaptive Educational Hypermedia
Web-based distance learning is becoming increasingly prevalent as the Internet permeates every aspect of our culture, and many educational content management systems are now in use on the web. However, learners’ experiences of these systems are almost invariably static, with information being delivered regardless of their background or knowledge. Due to variation between learners’, it is sugges...

Mobile and ubiquitous computing are changing the way how the students are learning. Heterogeneity of learner preferences in learning processes using Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a problem that researchers have been focused in the last few years. With the existence of different devices to access, technologies to interact, learning styles, competences to acquire, among others, the interes...
متن کاملThe Role of Learning Styles in Intelligent Tutoring Systems
The Bologna Process changes the educational paradigm, to be focus on the student and in the learning outcomes. The majority of e-learning platforms are used as mere repositories of content, based on the classroom paradigm and don’t support the individualism of each student learning process. Through the integration of new pedagogical methodologies based on students learning styles, we present an...
